kids with different hobbies

In the age of modern technology, children's leisure time has changed a lot. The child spends more and more time on the computer or gadgets. How to diversify children's activities so that they develop and learn new things? Here is a list of some modern hobbies so that the child does not get bored.

#1 Game programming and development

If a child loves playing video games, they would probably like to learn more about the process of creating them and bring their own project to life. Game development is a versatile and very useful process. The child learns to think logically, and also gives free rein to his imagination, developing creative skills. Programming also teaches patience, perseverance, and commitment. In addition, this hobby may become a fairly well-paid profession in the future. A game developer can work from anywhere in the world and enjoy life =)

#2 Blogging

So many kids today would like to start their own blog. This useful and exciting hobby helps you gain self-confidence and unlock your child's potential. In addition, children learn how to edit videos, search for material, and decide what is suitable for publishing and what is not. Blogging also develops the child's imagination and creativity and teaches them to constantly generate new interesting ideas.

#3 Cosplay

Cosplay, or copying characters from favorite games or cartoons, is one of the most popular hobbies among modern teenagers. It's all like theater, when a child reincarnates into a chosen character to become as similar as possible. Cosplay lovers not only imitate the external qualities of the characters, but also try to repeat their demeanor. The process of creating a costume helps teenagers develop imagination and design skills.

#4 Quadrobika

Quadrobika is a new and very popular sport among children in which you need to imitate animal movements. Imitating furry creatures, the child runs, jumps, hunts and even sleeps like them. Quad racing involves performing various tricks, walking on four legs, etc. This sport helps develop endurance and coordination. Quadrobika does not require special equipment, except for costumes that imitate animal hair and masks.

#5 Ficriting

If we love a story, it can be difficult to part ways with its characters and we want to come up with a sequel. Ficratig is a type of creative writing where a child continues the story of a book, movie, or game. You can publish what you've done in thematic communities to share your work with others. This hobby develops speech and writing skills, helps you find friends and like-minded people, develop creativity and express yourself. Ficriting can be the first steps towards a great future as a writer.

#6 Geocaching

A hobby for lovers of geography, travel and mystery! Probably, everyone at least once in their life dreamed of finding a treasure? Geocaching is an exciting activity that involves searching for hiding places using GPS in various parts of the world. All you need to do to become a geocacher is to register on the site, read the rules and start searching.

#7 Freezelight

Freezelight is translated from English as “frozen light”. This is a type of modern creativity where the movement of a light source is recorded by the camera with a shutter speed of 5 seconds or more so that a picture or an inscription remains on the photo. Freezelight is a good alternative to graffiti because it doesn't damage buildings. All you need for this hobby is a camera, a tripod, any light source (flashlight, sparklers, laser pointer, etc.) and darkness.

#8 Sand animation

This is an art form in which bulk material (sand, salt or ground coffee) is applied to glass. Then, using the projector, the image is transferred to the screen.

This is how you can create cartoons or tell stories “live”. Sand animation has a calming therapeutic effect and will be a useful hobby for both children and adults. Sand painting develops fine motor skills, perseverance and the ability to concentrate.

#9 Speedcubing

It takes very little to become a speedcuber — get a Rubik's cube! The lesson itself is that children learn to solve a dice at speed. Speedcubing competitions and championships take place around the world. This is a very useful hobby: it develops fine motor skills, logic and perseverance.
