Hobbies are an important part of any child's life. Hobby activities help children's development and increase self-esteem. In addition, hobbies often become a future profession! Thanks to computers and gadgets, children's hobbies in the 21st century are very different from previous generations. Creating cartoons is one of the hobbies you can do with the help of modern technologies.
What are the benefits of hobbies?
Coming up with and implementing ideas for cartoons means developing creative skills and imagination. This lesson teaches you to analyze the narrative and think figuratively, make decisions and set priorities, and also develops perseverance.
Animation types
Stop-motion or stop-motion
Classic Disney cartoons such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, 101 Dalmatians, and others were created using this technique. It consists of moving the subject step by step, taking photos of each frame, and then combining them.
The translation method is a type of frame-by-frame animation. Depending on the materials, there are puppet, plasticine, LEGO animation, etc.
What do you need for frame-by-frame animation?
In general, any “characters” are suitable for this type of animation: figures cut out of paper, small toys, beads, macarons, etc. It all depends only on the imagination of a child who can give new life to the most trivial objects!
The benefits of technology
Time-lapse animation teaches children patience and perseverance because it takes quite a long time. So, a 30-minute video might require about 20,000 frames!
Sand animation
A very useful and simple type of animation for a child! Working with sand or other bulk materials calms, relieves anxiety and develops fine motor skills. Actions with sand are performed by hand, but you can, for example, use brushes. Using a slide projector or a light board, the animation is transmitted to the screen and recorded.
3D animation
A very popular type of animation in the 21st century, which is used to create cartoons and computer games. A child does not need live materials for 3D animation. Work is carried out only in the “virtual” computer world, where objects and characters are modeled using special programs.
How 3D videos are made
The process of computer animation consists of several stages. First, a script is invented and written. Then a storyboard is made: the main frames, locations are determined, etc. Then, in a special program, 3D models of individual components are created on the computer. Then the picture is animated, the light is edited, and the rendering is done. The final stage is editing: sound is superimposed on the finished animation, music is added, etc.
