“Why is it important to develop creativity? After all, my child is not going to become an artist or musician!” many parents will say. But even so, don't underestimate the importance of creativity in a child's life. Creative activities teach children to think outside the box and go beyond stereotyped thinking. Today we'll talk about simple five-minute games that develop children's creative “streak”!
Simple magic
Draw a simple geometric shape (circle, square, triangle) or even a random squiggle on a piece of paper.
Invite your child to fantasize: let him introduce himself as a magician and use a pencil or felt-tip pen to turn the figure into something else. So, from a triangle you can make a house or a slice of pizza, and from a circle you can make a clock or a smiley face.
Draw a stain
Take the paint and put a stain on the paper. Ask your child to tell us what it looks like this exercise is great for developing speech skills. Then invite the child to finish drawing the stain, turning it into an animal or an object.
By the way, you can use alternative ways to create stains: using tea, melted wax or toothpaste =)
Ransomware
Invite your child to play: let him introduce himself as an undercover agent or intelligence agent. His task is to come up with his own cipher and use it to “encode” the secret message.
If your child doesn't know how to come up with a code, help him by explaining that each letter needs to find its own symbol. For example, A sun, B heart, B flower, etc.
The cool thing is that this game can be played for more than one day.
Let's draw a... monster!
Invite your child to create a masterpiece together! Take a blank sheet and draw a circle on it, explaining to the child that this is the head of a future monster. Tell your child that it is now his turn to draw. Have him draw a torso, ear, or eye. Keep drawing one at a time until the monster is ready! Encourage your child to add as many details as possible: for example, let the monster wear a tie or suspenders, or draw a kind heart for him!
Next time, you can invite your child to create an alien, a robot, a sea monster, etc. in the same way.
What can you turn... a jar into?
Choose any item and ask your child how you can use it in an unusual way. For example, what can an ordinary glass jar, an old boot, a broken umbrella, a bicycle tire, etc. be good for? It is not forbidden to implement the best ideas!
“The sea is worried” in a new way
Familiar from childhood, the game “The Sea Worries Once!” will not leave any child indifferent! Of course, it is especially interesting to play it with a large group of children. We suggest slightly changing the rules for creative development.
As usual, the presenter says simple words: “The sea worries once, the sea worries twice, the sea worries three times, the sea figure freezes!” After that, each of the participants needs to freeze, depicting an animal or object. The host's task is to guess them.
If he succeeds, the next participant becomes the leader.
Guess the sound
You need to prepare in advance a set of different sounds that can be found freely available on websites with sound banks.
Then you can arrange a quiz for the children. You turn on the sound. The child who raises his hand first guesses it and gets a point. If he makes a mistake, the right of answer passes to another. Whoever gets the most points gets a prize! It's up to you to decide what it will be, but it will be great if the rest of the guys don't stay offended either. For example, you can “give” the winner a trip to the park with friends =)
Button portrait
If you are into crafting, you probably have colorful buttons. Encourage your child to “paint” your portrait with them. This can be done on any surface: table, floor, sheet of paper. If there are no buttons, plastic bottle caps, pasta, beans, etc. will do.
By the way, this activity perfectly develops fine motor skills!
Guess what I'm drawing with... three lines!
Invite your child to play the following game: take a piece of paper, think of a simple object or animal, and draw a line. Ask your child what it might be. He probably won't be able to guess. Draw the following line and repeat the question. Draw until the child understands what it is. Praise him and switch roles. Now the child is drawing and you are guessing!
